Brian Halford

Since becoming a journalist in the early 1990s, Brian has become a popular and highly-respected voice in cricket and football. During 15 years as cricket correspondent for the Birmingham Post & Mail, he followed Warwickshire home and away and his coverage of the club became the stuff of legend. On numerous occasions, club employees contacted him to find out what was going on at the Bears - they wanted more details of the latest ‘Report from Arbroath.’

But Brian’s reach and reputation stretches far beyond cricket and the Bears. His 12 books include Past Imperfect, a history of Lincoln City FC, View From The Dugout, the autobiography of legendary former Manchester United youth coach Eric Harrison, and The Real Jeeves, the powerful story of a great cricketer who lost his life on the Somme and gave his name to PG Wodehouse’s famous character.

Still deeply immersed in cricket and football, including for the England and Wales Cricket Board, BackPass magazine and BBC Coventry and Warwickshire, Brian is delighted to be part of Reports from Arbroath and be joined by some of the wonderful sports men and women that he has encountered over the years.
